| Do you know who you are buying your bargains from - do you care? |
At C & J Southan we have 11 years experience in Children's Toys. As an importer as well as a nationwide wholesale distributor we are fully aware of current legislation regarding toy safety. All our products conform to EN71(where applicable) - the current European toy safety legislation.
We have noticed an increasing trend of individuals setting up online in recent months selling small toys & novelties to schools & PTA's (including many people on various auction sites) Perhaps you should ask yourself the following questions about your online supplier:
Are they aware of current TOY REGULATIONS or are they just repeating what they have been told by somebody else? Do they have full PRODUCT LIABILITY INSURANCE in the event of a problem with a product. If a parent sues you for an accident who are you going to sue? A person trading from a lock up without such liability insurance won't be of much use to you in this event. We supply everybody from your next door neighbours right up to the largest council in the UK. OVER 7000 UK SCHOOLS & PTAs are on our customer base.
Do they know about recently banned products in toys like pthalates? Ask them - see what they say. Several products were withdrawn by major UK companies in 2006/2007 due to high levels of certain pthalates. Traditionally the valves on inflatables contained these products. Our inflatables CONFORM TO PTHALATE LEGISLATION.
Are you details held securely under DATA PROTECTION LAW - do your suppliers have a registration number showing that they are a REGISTERED DATA CONTROLLER with the Information Commisioner's Office?
We live in a changing world & with the ever increasing popularity of the internet competition in all sectors will intensify over time (..& I do believe in a free market economy)
...just make sure that your bargains don't come at a price!
